Going Mad: Alice in Hollywoodland
Odyssey Theatre and Los Angeles City College Theatre Academy present Theatre Movement Bazaar’s new work, inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass and set in a present day Hollywood TV and film studio. As Alice tries to make her dreams come true, she falls into the cruel court of the entertainment industry, where everyone is subject to the wayward whims of the Studio Executive, and the backlot becomes an enchanted scene of accidental surrealism.
This production is made possible by a grant from the Los Angeles County’s Creative Recovery LA initiative and funded by the LA Board of Supervisors through the Federal American Rescue Plan Act.
Directed by Tina Kronis and written by Richard Alger of Theatre Movement Bazaar.

“ENCHANTED… 17 actors giving it their all to entertain the audience with lots of laughter.”
“VIGOR, VERVE AND VITALITY… excellent choreography… the entire crew moved as one attached to invisible strings… The passionate and energetic cast does an animated job of presenting the goofy merriment.”
“HIGHLY KINETIC… BLEND[S] COMEDY WITH ENERGETIC MOVEMENT… Although this play features college actors, their performances and the production in general shows the level of commitment from the producers, the playwright, the director and, of course, the future thespians. It is also an example of the productive training received at the Los Angeles City College Theatre Academy, an institution preparing artists since 1929.”
