The Interim
For nine years, the choreographer carried with her four small boxes of Super8 film — from coast to coast, various apartments to houses, city to desert. The footage was shot in January 2014 while in residence in Jersey City, New Jersey, documenting dances made in a matter of hours or days.
The Interim is an opportunity to revisit a past, to observe our own recurring tendencies through time, and to commune with both a past and a future self. It seeks to understand what we carry, how we can let go, and what we can learn from the images ingrained in our imaginations.
