The Eerie Atlas – A Worn World

After “Just in Time” (Letters to Dance) in 2018 deufert&plischke return to the Odyssey with The Eerie Atlas – A Worn World. Together with local choreographers deufert&plischke will offer a range of experiences like audio walks, somatic practices, writing workshops, choreographic exercises, clothes swaps and costume ateliers. In these happenings and labs local communities can exchange memories about clothes, explore movements and collect images and stories. We wear clothes all our lives. They protect us and our bodies, not only against cold and heat. They are loved and thrown away, replaced, gifted, and collected. Clothes carry memories of people and places, define economic conditions, are culturally significant, have historically dictated gender, reflect our manner of thinking about society and … make life more enjoyable. All this culminates in a ball where participants and audience get together, show off their costumes, exchange stories, and move and dance to the beats of a local DJ.
