Taylor Donofrio

Los Angeles based choreographer, Taylor Donofrio creates delicate and intricate dance works for the stage, screen and for public spaces. Donofrio’s artistic practice operates at the intersection of intimacy, domesticity, and femininity. Heavily informed by a psychoanalytic perspective her work serves as an exploration of the internal landscape, examining how the subconscious shapes personal identity and interpersonal relationships.

Taylor received her MFA in Choreography from California Institute of the Arts in 2022. Prior to LA, she founded Contemporary Dance Company, Donofrio Dance Company (DDC), in Brooklyn in 2010. DDC’s work has been presented at Triskelion Arts, CPR, FLICfest, WestFest, INSITU Site-Specific Dance Festival, 92Y, Gibney Dance, Jacob Burns Film Center, Red Rock Screen Dance Film Festival, Highways Performance Space, and the ODC Theater. Taylor has worked as rehearsal assistant for French Choreographer, Dimitri Chamblas, and has worked with NYC based Theater companies Fresh Ground Pepper and Irondale Theater Company.

She has held choreographic residencies at Governor’s Island, The Dragon’s Egg, and most recently at the REEF LA for the development of her new work, BETTY.
