Ernie Silva
Writer/Performer
Ernie Silva is a product of the Bushwick projects in Brooklyn, New York. His career started at the age of 12 while breakdancing on stages all over the city. Eventually his guitar playing side came calling to be recognized, which he then developed himself throughout the years while sleeping on odd couches, random nights at hostels and homeless shelters, and a few nights riding freight trains around the country. His solo show career has been rather stellar. His show Heavy Like the Weight of a Flame (debuted by the Odyssey Theater in Los Angeles,) has gone on to be wildly popular, a world-wide success as a multi-award-winning piece. His sophomore show Smoke has also enjoyed massive successes in Los Angeles and New York City. Now he unveils his latest project 108 Stitches, a wonderfully seriocomic story about a father who struggles with his own sordid past in America’s pastime as his young son now decides to play the game we all know and love.
