Punto de Inflexión

Stephanie García is a multi-awarded Mexican multidisciplinary artist. Dance, film, choreography, and, more recently, performance art are the mediums García affects the audiences that witness her work. 

Garcia is also a cultural manager, producer, co-founder, and co-director of Punto de Inflexión Dance Company and PROArtes México. She has danced with several of the most important Mexican choreographers and venues in Mexico, international choreographers, performed in 11 countries in America, Europe, and Africa, and choreographed more than 30 original multidisciplinary pieces. Her work has been supported by organizations and programs like the Foundation of Contemporary Arts in NYC (US/2023), Salt Lake City Arts Council (US/2023), Next-Gen (US/2022), Banff Center (CAN/2021), NALAC (US/2021), Outstanding Profile Santander Legacy (MEX/2020), IBERESCENA (Iberoamerican countries/2019), Prince Claus Fund (NL/2019), and nine times awarded by Mexico’s National Culture and Arts Fund grants from 2006-2023.

Since 2008, Stephanie has been working as an arts advocate. She has facilitated local and international art exchanges between Mexican artists and countries like Uruguay, Cuba, Panama, Brazil, Israel, Spain, Austria, Peru, Colombia, Tunisia, and the US. See more in PROArtes México.

García holds an MFA in Dance, and a Screen Dance Certificate by the University of Utah, a BFA in Contemporary Dance from the Ballet and Contemporary National Dance School (ENDCC)/National Fine Arts Institute of Mexico (INBA) and studies in Cultural Management (UDG) and Internacional Cultural Policies (OEI, UAM, CENART). Currently, García is a member of Red U40 México, Latinx Hispanic Dancers United and The Latin American Interdisciplinary Gender Network (Yale/CIEG UNAM).
