Onier Bacallao Garcia
Trumpet/Multi Instrumentalist
Onier is a cuban trumpet player, multi-instrumentalist, arranger, and teaching artist. He has played in numerous ensembles fusing traditional music from Latin America and world music with modern urban music and jazz including Club Mambi, Telmary and Friends, Changüí Majadero, Adonis Puente, Sussie 4, Leiden, Charles Ans. He has also performed in important Salsa Bands with well-known Salsa masters like Maelo Ruiz, Tito Rojas and Tony Vega; and Traditional Cuban music Orchestras including Santiago Habana, Sol Caribe, Caña Santa, Grupo Alfa. He earned his Bachelor of Music degree from Escuela Profesional de Arte “Samuel Feijóo” and Escuela Vocacional de Arte “Olga Alonso”. Throughout his career, he has made it a priority to educate, expand and develop the audience for Latin American music, most recently helping produce numerous musical works like Club Mambí (2019) original music project, Charles Ans, Smile (2015), Leiden “Leiden” (2014), Sussie 4 “Radio latina” Label: Seitrack-Sony (2012), Madison y su Tumbao Cubano “Mil Razones” (2012).
