Katie Tuchi
Katie Tuchi (they/them) is a recent graduate of Loyola Marymount University as a student of Dance and African American Studies. They graduated from Arizona School for the Arts in 2022 as a dance major with an emphasis on Horton. Katie has spent summers studying at the Ailey School, Gaga Lab NYC, A.I.M., Peridance Center, Joffrey Ballet School, Bates Dance Festival, Springboard Dans Festival, B12 Festival in Berlin, and Orsolina 28 in Italy. They have performed the works of Bill T. Jones, Brett Easterling, Shannon Gillen & Jason Cianciulli (Vim Vigor), James Gregg, Mario Bermúdez & Catherine Coury (Marcat Dance), Mamie Green (VOLTA), and more. They were recognized in 2023 as a choreographic finalist at the New Century Dance Project for their choreography, Troxler Fading and hold the National Society of Arts and Letters award for their choreography, Us as We. Katie believes a person cannot be whole without an understanding of the places and people by whom they are surrounded. The arts provide a universal language that unites not only one another, but the whole self. Endless gratitude to Mom, Dad, and Alex.
