Jan Munroe

Actor/Performance Artist

Jan has been involved in the creation of new work since studies with Etienne Decroux and Marcel Marceau. A founding member of The Mystic Knights of the Oingo-Bpingo (L.A.) and The Theatah of the Apres-Garde (Bay Area), he is a recipient of two NEA Theatre fellowships, a Rockefeller Playwright’s Fellowship, a CAC New Genre Fellowship, eleven Drama-Logue and L.A, Weekly Awards and an Ovation Award. His original work includes LITTLE MONSTERS (five performers and 27 Tvs), ALLIGATOR TAILS (solo: published West Coast Plays), NOTHING HUMAN DISGUSTS ME (LAWEE award for Best Solo of 1992) and WOODWORKS (7 dancers and a percussion ensemble). As an actor, he as appeared on stage, television and movies.
