Bernardo Bermudez has been praised for his portrayals of leading characters in Contemporary Operas throughout the USA- roles include the West Coast premiere of Zorro by Hector Armienta at Opera Santa Barbara, Pleasure in the world premiere of The Romance of The Rose by Kate Soper for Long Beach Opera, as well as both the roles of Laurentino and Mark in Cruzar la Cara De La Luna , and Diego Rivera in FRIDA at Long Beach and Orlando Operas, among others. His career also spans appearances with Los Angeles, San Diego, Anchorage, Portland,  El Paso Operas, Pacific Opera Project, Opera North, Union Avenue Opera, The San Diego Symphony, The Nashville Symphony, and La Jolla Symphony, Bermudez’s notable roles  also include Figaro in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Stanley Kowalski in A Streetcar Named Desire, Danilo in The Merry Widow, the title role in Don Giovanni, Count Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro and Vidal in Luisa Fernanda. Summer festivals include Opera Neo, Opera North, and The Music Academy of the West for which he was awarded the Enterprise Award in 2019 and 2020. He also appears regularly with Opera a la Carte San Diego in their tributes to opera and musical theatre.Bermudez is a co-founder of Opera4Kids, a non-profit organization that aims to inspire young minds through live vocal and classical music performances, as well as digital programming.
