LINEAGE MVMT
LINEAGE MVMT is a collective of dancers/martial artists dedicated to honoring Kung Fu lineage while expanding its cultural relevance in contemporary dance. United by shared training under Grandmaster Jason Tsou (Wutan Los Angeles) and informed by diverse dance backgrounds, the company explores how “traditional” Chinese martial arts forms can evolve through the bodies and perspectives of contemporary artists.
LINEAGE MVMT debuted at Highways Performance Space in March 2025, and their premier work, Polaris, received praise for its “vibrant energy,” “excellent technique,” and “powerful choreography” (LA Dance Chronicle). Since then, their work has been presented at the Traditional Chinese Martial Arts Federation Banquet, San Pedro Festival of the Arts, Glorya Kaufman Dance Theater at UCLA, and Lake Forest Performing Arts Center.
