FAQs: Frequently Asked Questions
PARKING/LOCATION – The Odyssey offers weekday & Saturday parking for patrons, after 6pm, all around the theatre on a “first-come first-serve basis”. (On the front, side and behind the theatre. Spaces touching the theatre, NOT in the back fenced in lot). Parking on the weekends (Fri/Sat/Sun) is $5 per car (Cash Only) and is FREE during the week. Posted signs around the theatre refer to businesses that rent our parking spaces during the week up until 6pm. (NO PARKING in these rented spaces till after 6pm weekdays). We do not and cannot guarantee a parking space for everyone, so please arrive early to make sure you get a space. If our lot fills up before you arrive, there is street parking all around the theater, just be sure to read the signs. Also, after 6pm, you can park in the Oil Change and Car Wash businesses just north of our theatre. If you want to Uber, Lyft or take a cab to the theatre, our address is: 2055 S. Sepulveda Blvd. 90025 (Just north of Olympic on the west side of the street). Metro Expo Line exit “Expo/Sepulveda” is .5 miles south of the theatre, and about a 10-15 min. walk!
BOX OFFICE HOURS & INFO – The Box Office hours are based on performance schedules. Typically, we are open at 1pm Wednesday thru Saturday, and Noon on Sunday. We close at 6pm, (unless there is a show that night, then we are open till 8pm). Sundays the box office closes at 4pm. We have a limited staff and sometimes we have to walk away from the box office or we are helping a patron in the lobby. DID YOU KNOW… You can order tickets through Ovationtix for our shows, outside of our box office hours? Simply call: 866-811-4111, live agents now happily accept inbound ticket sales and related service calls from 9:00am EST until 9:00pm EST on weekdays and 10:00am EST until 9:00pm EST on Saturdays and Sundays. Odyssey box office staff includes: Mark and Sarah.
ABOUT THE THEATRE – We have three 99-seat theatres in our building. All three spaces vary in size and shape. The Odyssey produces five to six shows a year, which are part of our Subscription Series. We also rent our spaces to visiting artists, actors, and performers. If a show is a “guest production” or “rental”, some of the rules and regulations may differ from an Odyssey produced show. See “Visiting Productions” below.
HANDICAP ACCESSIBILITY (ADA) – All three theaters, the restrooms, the entrances and the lobby are handicap accessible. Two seats in each theatre are removable, if you would like to remain in a wheelchair for your own comfort. Please notify the theatre in advance, upon purchase of tickets, if you require one of these seats. Do not wait till you arrive at the theatre. We also have two handicap parking spaces in front of the theatre as well, along with a ramp into the theatre.
ASSISTED LISTENING SYSTEMS (ALS) – We do not provide hearing aid assistance. Per the ADA requirements, Assisted Listening Devices are not required “where audio amplification is not provided”. Upon request, we will do our best to get you as close to the front of the theatre, if seats are available. Please notify box office in advance, or at the time of purchase, if closer seating is required. Special requests cannot be made at the box office window when picking up tickets, as many of the shows sell out and adjusting seating may not be possible at the last minute.
CREDIT/DEBIT CARD FEES – Just as a reminder, anytime you make a credit card purchase at the Odyssey, whether in person, over the phone, or online, there is a $3 per ticket Credit/Debit Card fee. The only way to avoid this fee is to come to the box office in person with cash or check.
SEAT HOLDS – If you would like to “hold seats”, and pay at the ticket window in cash or with a check, you will need to give a credit card number to the box office to keep on file until they are paid in full. If you do not arrive to purchase these tickets, you will be charged FULL PRICE for those seats on hold. (Even if you were going to be paying a discounted rate). WE DO NOT ENCOURAGE DOING THIS. PLEASE PAY FOR ALL TICKETS IN ADVANCE.
ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS on tickets! (This does not include subscribers). However, you can donate the cost of the ticket to the theatre for a tax deduction. See “Donations” below.
EXCHANGING TICKETS – There is a $5 PER TICKET fee for moving tickets to a different performance date. You will also be asked to pay any price difference in the cost of tickets. Exchanges are only available within the same show, no exchanges from show to show.
ABSOLUTELY NO LATE SEATING for ANY shows at the Odyssey. Please leave early enough to find parking. See above for more information about Parking around the theatre. If you do not arrive by show time, the seats WILL be released. There are no refunds for late arrivals. However, depending on the show, you could move to a new performance date and pay the $5 per ticket exchange fee.
NO PHOTOGRAPHY OR RECORDING in the theater (cameras will be confiscated). ABSOLUTELY NO TEXTING OR CELL PHONE USE.
NO BILLS OVER $20 PLEASE! The theatre does not keep much cash on site.
Wi-Fi – We do not provide Wi-Fi for guests at the Odyssey.
CHILDREN – We typically leave this decision up to the parents, but we usually recommend 13-14 years old. Infants, if they become disruptive, will be asked to leave the theatre.
DRESS CODE – Please dress comfortably. We do not have a dress code, as long as you are comfortable, we are fine.
HEAT & A/C IN THEATRES – in the summer months, our theatres are air-conditioned. Please dress appropriately. Same with the “colder” California nights. We do heat the theatres when it is cold, but I would always recommend bringing a sweater or jacket.
SERVICE ANIMALS – Service animals that are registered and have the proper documentation, and service vest on, are permitted. However, if any animal becomes disruptive, or in any way presents a danger to another patron, they will be asked to remove the animal from the theatre.
RENTING A THEATRE – Please contact the theatre directly. Or check the “Visit” page of the Odyssey website for Production Manager information.
VISITING PRODUCTIONS (Rentals) – These productions run independently from Odyssey Produced shows. Some discounts or other policies may not apply, or could be different. Some productions do not use the Odyssey Box Office to sell pre-sale tickets. You can always call the box office to get more information about them or they can direct you to a website/phone number that can help you. These productions are NOT a part of the Odyssey Subscribers Series and are not available on your subscriptions.
2017 HOLIDAY CLOSURES – The Odyssey hours from mid December through early January will be very limited for the holidays. We are also closed Thanksgiving Day and the following Friday.
LOST & FOUND – If you feel as though you have left an item behind while at the theatre. Feel free to contact the theatre box office to see if it was returned or found.
LOST OR MISPLACED TICKETS – Tickets can always be reprinted anytime and picked up at the box office.
DISCOUNT TICKETS & CODES – All discounts must be mentioned at the time of purchase: No retroactive discounts. Student, “Under 30”, Senior, Union (Equity/SAG/AFTRA), & Veteran discounts are available on select performances. Typically, weekday performances only. Prices and days vary! Please call the box office for specific show details. If you would like to receive emails from the Odyssey with our promo codes and discount offers, simply email the box office and let them know. DID YOU KNOW… that if you use OUR discounts, and promo codes, you are able to select your own seats, and if you pay cash or check, you avoid ANY processing fees? Our promo codes tend to be a much better deal than any third party ticketing sites. (All third party ticket sales are not received until 2 hours before show time, the day of the show, so seating is assigned to the remaining open seats. And we do not take seating requests for third party sales). ****See below for Goldstar Ticketing information.****
HOW TO ENTER PROMO CODE: To receive these discounts for online purchases, simply type in the word as a promotion code (ie. “EARLYBIRD”) where it says “Have a Promotion Code?” at the top right hand corner of the seat chart page, BEFORE you choose your seat. No retroactive discounts. Please call the box office for assistance if the discount is not coming up. Sometimes promo codes are not available on ALL PERFORMANCES, so be sure the performance you are trying to buy for offers that discount. Again, we will not refund tickets because you were not able to enter the promo code online.
STUDENT, UNDER 30 & SAG/AFTRA/EQUITY tickets: Proper ID or membership cards must be shown to the box office when picking up your tickets. If you do not provide these ID or membership cards, you will be charged the difference at time of ticket pick-up. These tickets are only available for the person holding the membership card, student ID, etc. Not for guests of said patron.
There is ALWAYS a $3 per ticket charge for any credit/debit card sales. (Regardless of online, in person or phone sales.)
WINE NIGHT– The third Friday of every month is WINE NIGHT (for Odyssey productions ONLY). So, stay after the show and enjoy a complimentary glass of wine with your friends and the cast of the show. Simply show your ticket stub at the concession stand. **Proper ID must be shown. Absolutely no under age patrons are allowed to partake.**
POST SHOW DISCUSSIONS – These are on select performances only. Those performances are listed on the show calendar on our website, or on the show flyer. (See below to be added to our mailing list).
“TIX 4 $10” NIGHT – These tickets are not for “pre-purchase”, nor are you able to reserve a seat. They are only available 2 hours prior to show time (on the day of that performance) at the BOX OFFICE window only! (Please note, as with any special priced tickets, there is ALWAYS a $3 per ticket charge for any credit/debit card sales).
GROUP RATES – Sometimes we do offer a group rate for parties of 10 or more. Please contact the box office if interested. ($3 per ticket charge applies for all debit/credit card purchases).
GOLDSTAR TICKETS – These tickets sometimes available for our productions, until supplies last. All those purchases must be done on the Goldstar website, they are not available at the box office. If they are sold out on Goldstar, there are no more of these discounted tickets left. These seats are assigned two hours before show time, when the box office receives the list of names from Goldstar. We do not take seating requests for third party tickets. If you require ADA seating, please contact Goldstar and they will contact the box office staff. If you have a problem with your transaction, you must contact Goldstar directly, the Odyssey Theatre does not have access to your sale or transactions. Please contact them via email: email@example.com. If you book your tickets for the wrong performance date on Goldstar, and need to move them, you will be charged the $5 per ticket exchange fee. Odyssey ticketing information applies to these tickets as well: No Late Seating, & No Refunds.
RUSH TICKETS – We have last minute Rush Tickets for $15 available on every performance, at the box office window. (OPENING & CLOSING WEEKEND EXEMPT/ Odyssey produced shows only). They must be asked for at time of purchase. And only become available 15 min. prior to curtain. (a $3 per ticket charge applies with credit/debit purchases).
PREVIEWS – We do offer $10 Previews the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday before an Opening Night performance for our Odyssey Produced productions. To reserve a seat, call or email the box office. (These performances are NOT reserved seating. It is general admission only. Although you may choose a seat when reserving online, you are not guaranteed that seat). ($3 per ticket charge applies for all debit/credit card sales). If ADA seating is necessary, please notify the House manager upon arrival to the theatre.
AUDITIONS/CASTING – Odyssey produced shows are cast about 5-6 months in advance of opening. We advertise these roles on Breakdown Express (for managers/agents) and Actors Access. Please do not contact the box office staff regarding auditions. You can drop off headshot at the theatre or mail them with “Attention: Sally”. However, it’s better to just submit for particular roles you are interested in when you see them on Actors Access. We currently only cast Non-Equity actors, or actors who have gone Fi-Core with Equity.

GIFT CERTIFICATES – Did you know that the Odyssey offers Gift Certificates? If you are interested, those can be purchased at the box office window during box office hours, or on our website here: https://web.ovationtix.com/trs/giftcard/34367 You can purchase them yourself and even print them from home.
MERCHANDISE – The Odyssey now sells OTE coffee mugs, tote bags and T-shirts. All items can be purchased at the concession stand upon arrival to the theatre. (While supplies last).
CONCESSIONS/FOOD – We do provide light concessions at the theatre. Cookies, crackers, chips, etc. plus we also have soda, coffee, beer and wine. Please feel free to come early and relax in the lobby or on our front patio. NO FOOD OR DRINKS IN THE THEATRE (EXCEPT WATER). There are some “walkable” restaurants and eateries near the theatre. There is a Subway & Pazzo Pizza on the south/west corner of Olympic and Sepulveda, in a small strip mall. Also, on Sawtelle (just north of Olympic) is an area known as “Little Osaka,” with an oasis of Asian restaurants. VOLUNTEERING – If you are interested in Volunteering at the Odyssey, email or call the box office and leave your contact information. We are always looking for help, especially show nights. Some volunteering activities may include: assistance with concessions, ushering in a theatre, assisting with parking (no valet, just collecting payment and directing to available spaces), office work, and if qualified, production office, scenic building, or box office work.
SUBSCRIPTIONS/MEMBERSHIP – Please look on the website for detailed information regarding our subscriptions. This information can be found on the website by clicking the “Season” tab on the home page, and then clicking “Subscribe Now”. Or you can call the box office during regular box office hours. Our subscriptions are “rolling”, so if you are interested, you can purchase them anytime, and they will be good for just over a year.
DONATIONS – We rely heavily on your generous donations to keep this three-theater complex running. You can make a donation over the phone with the box office staff, or do so online through our website by clicking the “Support” tab on the home page. Donations of $250 or more are issued “Donor Passes”, which entitles them to three OPENING NIGHT invitations or more, as well as being listed in our program, and some other special perks. If you don’t use one of your purchased tickets for the Odyssey, you can claim that ticket as a donation. Simply leave a mailing address with the box office staff and a form will be mailed to you.
